Annual Compensation Limit increases have recently been put before Parliament by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2016 applies, containing the annual increases in compensation payments. It applies to dismissals (or detriments, etc) occurring on or after 6 April 2016.

The main changes (and they’re not going to break the bank) are:-

• a week’s pay – £479 (currently £475)
• maximum compensatory award – £78,962 (currently £78,335)
