The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2016 have been made, and come into force on 1 April 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They make it clear – if there was ever any doubt – that the ‘National Living Wage’ for over-25 year olds, promised by the Government last year, is nothing more than a tweak to the minimum wage regulations.<\/p>\n

The new minimum wages from 1 April 2016 will be:-
\n\u2022 age 25+ – \u00a37.20 per hour (the National Living Wage)
\n\u2022 21-25 – \u00a36.70 per hour
\n\u2022 18-21 – \u00a35.30 per hour
\n\u2022 apprentices – \u00a33.30 per hour<\/p>\n

Employers will have to ensure they adhere to these new rates and employees should check that they are gettig there fuill entitlement from April onwards.<\/p>\n
